Psychotria Nexus, a stable cross of Psychotria Viridis and Psychotria Cathargensis is proported and assayed to be only slightly weaker in "light" than its parent Psycotria Viridis. The major benefit to this hybrid is its more than accelerated growth of close to double that of Psychtria Virdis which can test patience for those in a grand hurry.
What you get is a very healthy unrooted single leaf cutting in wet peat or nutrient mulch. Psychotria Nexus roots very quickly and if left in the shipping medium and left in the clear plastic bag it is shipped in and placed in a part sun window of 4-6 hours of not too bright light a day rooting usually begins in 4 weeks. If left longer 2-3 months small stem shoots appear and it can be then transfered to a heavy nutrient compost and humus mix (sterile prefered but not entirely needed) and another larger plastiv bag or dome placed over the rooted plant for a time of at least 1 month and slowly adjusted to lower humidty over a 1 -2 month period of time for best results.
Indoors P. Nexus enjoys a few hours of indirect bright light or a nonburning vegetative grow light of 12 hours or more. P. Nexus seems to enjoy more natural light but can become burned by very bright sunlight and dry conditons . A person of non tropical setting can grow P. Nexus outdoors in warmer months 55 degrees F + ( 12.7 Celsius + ) in a dappled sunlight or shaded area it will thrive with spot sprayings of water to keep the humidty up. It does not enjoy dry conditions , it is a tropical and subtropical species and needs occasional misting if in desert or dry environment outdoors or indoors.
Potted P. Nexus does well and can be brought indoors into a greenhouse or sunnyish winter window in cooler areas to "winter over" very well if not overwatered or exposed to cold drafts. Mature leaves can be very very large 6" + (15.2 cm ) and need as low as 6-8 for craft purposes.
